Privacy, in plain words.
Emberford Studios apps are built so that we know as little about you as possible. This page explains exactly what that means. It applies to every app we publish.
What we collect
Nothing. Our apps do not have accounts, do not include analytics or advertising libraries, and do not send data to us or to anyone else.
Your files
Our apps work with content you already have on your device. That content, along with anything the app records about how you use it, positions, bookmarks, notes, settings, stays on your device. If you choose to export a backup, it is written to a location you pick and never leaves your control.
What the app stores can see
Google Play and the App Store handle downloads, purchases and crash reports. That data is governed by Google’s and Apple’s own privacy policies. We see only the aggregate, anonymous statistics those stores provide to every developer.
Permissions
An app will only ask for a permission when a feature you have chosen to use needs it. Depending on the app, that may include:
- Storage or file access, so you can pick the folders and files you want to use.
- Notifications, for controls on the lock screen.
- Bluetooth on some devices, so headphone and car buttons work.
No permission is requested until the feature that needs it is used, and every one of them can be declined.
If you write to us at hello@emberfordstudios.com, we keep the conversation for as long as it takes to help you, and then only as an ordinary mailbox would.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will move. We will not quietly start collecting data.
